DEDICATION Massive thanks to Sue and all the relatives and friends who have formed the fabric of my life. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS Compiling this book took longer than I expected. It’s been quite an exercise in transferring memories, thoughts and opinions onto paper, disc and the cloud. Done primarily for my own benefit I do however hope that the outcome will be of interest to many of the people who have shared the adventure. I have appreciated the contributions made by all those who have filled gaps in my own memory, corrected hazy recollections or provided useful supporting documents. This includes a variety of authors and commentators whose books, articles, pictures and stories have helped influence some of my thinking and shaped my views on life and society. Use the menu option (top right on each page) to find the overall contents page and the drop-downs that enable navigation between the section and individual chapter pages. Clicking on images or headings outside of the menu doesn't work, or at least I haven't figured out how to do it yet.
The blue button options enable a limited direct route to the next chapter or a return to the Home, Contents or current Section Header pages.
